So, keep safe your permits and other documents like passport. TIMS Card costs you $30 and ACAP costs you $20. You may doubt why you need a permit? This helps to keep track of your activities and save you in case of an emergency. Moreover, the fee will be used for the conservation of the area, so that you can enjoy pollution-free trekking in Nepal. As a responsible trekker, you should not throw plastic wastages in the route.

Best Time to Visit Annapurna

Best View of Annapurna Base Camp

There is no particular best season to visit in Nepal as it can be done in all seasons, although in the winter the Annapurna Base Camp is often closed due to the excessive snow and the threat of avalanches. Visiting here in winter is still a thrill and you should not discount the experience. Still, the best time for you to do ABC Trek 7 Days is around October and November. The second best time is in the months of March and April. During these months, the weather is calm and the sky is clear – a perfect time to enjoy treks.

ABC Trek Difficulty

This trip is considered Demanding. A good level of cardiovascular fitness and some trekking experience is strongly advised. On a scale of 1 to 10, then this course is rated 7. Your safety and the safety of the support team safety of everyone on the trek is our highest concern and like all strenuous treks, this trek is treated as an expedition. Altitude Sickness, Accommodation, Food, Weather, Lack of proper guide maybe some common Annapurna Base Camp trek Difficulty.

Altitude Sickness

AMS comes into effect usually because a trekker or climber ascends too quickly. As the air becomes thinner, there is less oxygen available. Your lungs need time to adjust in order to carry much-needed oxygen to the different parts of your body. If you feel the symptoms of Nausea, Difficulty to breathe, don’t force yourself and come down. However, walking slowly and keeping yourself hydrated keeps one step away from sickness.

The weather may be a challenge for ABC Trekkers. ABC route is often closed due to heavy snowfall. Trekking in winter is really heart-shivering. However, trekking in the Autumn and Spring is very easy. Doing some physical fitness you can conclude the trek with ease. So, it’s better to go trekking after checking the weather updates.

Any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can. On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day for 7 days. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs. The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

Food and Accommodation

On ABC Trek, all accommodation is included in the price. You will stay in either a guesthouse or a teahouse. Which one depends on the time of year you are trekking. A Guesthouse is more like a low budget hotel room in the way to Base Camp. You will likely have a shower and a western toilet (they will be shared with other trekkers). You may also have WiFi. A Teahouse is basically an extension of a family home (usually very basic, most likely no shower and a drop toilet.) In either case, the hospitality is always outstanding.

All food costs are included in the price. The food is basic but extremely nutritious to keep you going. When a package includes nights in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan etc, the price includes breakfast as long as you have it at the Hotel.

What about Battery Charging, Hot Showers and ATM?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. The charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

There are no ATMs on this trek. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides?

No, Not really. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek, enjoy and return. But trekking ABC independently you may have some issues. So, if you want to hire a guide for the Annapurna region, guides fee range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day. So, for 7 days ABC Tour you have to pay about $200 for Guide and $150 for Porter.

The walking route of Annapurna Nepal is really a beautiful thing whose charm can’t be even described by greatest literature ever, then who am I. So, you begin Annapurna Trek from Pokhara, in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara Valley, central Nepal and you will witness many things on the way to Base Camp such as rhododendron forests, cliffs, waterfalls, terraced rice paddies and suspension bridges, all of which makes this trip an amazing spectacle.
