Khopra Ridge Trek at present is gaining traction as the finest alternative to well-liked Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Recently introduced and less crowded tea house trek walk you higher still to another substantial viewpoint of the Annapurnas. Khopra Ridge trek would be an adventure that far exceeded your expectations since you can view more than 25 Himalayan peaks in the Annapurna region. Likewise, the panorama of the towering mountains around you would be an experience like never before. Both sunrise and sunset view is amazing. The clouds would fill the valley below the ridge. Hence, Towering Dhaulagiri shines over the clouds. Unbelievably much beautiful, Khopra ridge, Its somewhere between heaven and earth.

Khopra Ridge trek extends as Khayer lake trek since one can trek to the tranquil Khayer lake (local name- Baraha Tal) from Khopra ridge. There is a Baraha temple near the lake and the place is quiet and peaceful. At the very end, there are steps made for pilgrims and even a handrail. The trail is almost untouched and unique because it is less popular among the tourists. Even though the trek is less popular it offers the most blissful panorama and landscapes. In addition to that, it offers the beautiful Himalayan scenery of mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Anapurna III, Annapurna south, Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche peak, Nilgiri etc. The traditional Gurung and Magar villages and the vantage points make the trek a more cultural and natural experience. Colourful rhododendron forests (during spring), green pine forests, towering waterfalls, freshwater streams, clear blue skies and beautiful Himalayan landscapes at the backdrop provide breakout from rush day to day life.

Ammonite Adventures trek had been organizing Khopra Danda trek since 2016 as a teahouse trek. Likewise, we organize treks to newly discovered destinations all over the country. Behind, Khopra Danda trek Mohare Ridge trek is another newly introduced trekking destination in Annapurna region.

Khopra Ridge Trek Difficulty

The contributing elements for Khopra Ridge Trek Difficulty are weather condition, elevation and Acute Mountain Sickness. A well-organized trekker with previous trekking experience can easily conclude the trek. Khopra Danda Trek difficulty is moderate with average weather conditions and elevation.

Elevation

For Khopra Ridge trekking, one must be able to gain about 3600m of elevation in four days. This means one must hike for an average of 800 m elevation for each day. The trekking route is steep. The highest elevation covered during the trek is 4,660 meters at Khayer lake. Likewise, the elevation of Khopra ridge is 3,640 meters.

Weather Conditions

Generally, the weather conditions during the trek are clear if you wish to do it in other seasons beside monsoon. However, in peak winter the trek cannot be accomplished. One must consider the weather report of Khopra ridge, Khayer lake before the trek.

Acute Mountain Sickness

Acute mountain sickness (AMS) is caused by swift subjection to the little amount of Oxygen at peak elevations. Symptoms of AMS include headache, shortness of breath, vomiting, tiredness and dizziness. The sickness can further progress for serious medical emergencies if not taken into considerations. Hence, if any of the symptoms of AMS are seen on the trekker then he/she should stop ascending further and should descend back. However, Khopra ridge trek is a moderately difficult trek and AMS is minimal among the trekkers in that region.

Food and Accommodation

Khopra Ridge Khayer lake trek is a total Teahouse trek and hence, camping is dispensable. However, if you wish to do a camping trek then you can do that as well. Unlike the tea houses in Khopra Danda, Dobato and Bayle, teahouses in other places are comfortable enough for trekkers. Hence, food and accommodation are basic for trekkers during Khopra danda Khayer lake trek. However, it would be good enough for survival. Teahouses provide blankets but you can carry your sleeping bags as well. However, sleeping bags are not mandatory. Dal-Bhat the basic foods and other basic continental foods are available in this region. It would cost around USD 5 for the meal and roughly USD 7 per night for renting the room.
