Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days

Everest Base Camp Trek, Who hasn’t dreamed of trekking to the base of the highest point on Earth? It’s King like feeling being at the Top of the World. Everest base Camp Trek 14 days will be a lifetime experience. With Ammonite Adventure, it is possibly the greatest trekking experience you can get because it has it all:

  • You get to explore the ancient city of Kathmandu
  • A scenic return flight to Lukla
  • Experience the Sherpa culture
  • Visit ancient Monasteries in the mountains
  • Incredible views including the Khumbu Icefall
  • Walk the Khumbu Glacier
  • Experience Highest Base Camp knowing you are as high as you can go without joining an expedition team.

Lukla (2,845m / 9,334 ft) is certainly the starting point for 2-2Trek and it takes around 30 minutes to reach from Kathmandu by air. As a matter of fact Tenzing–Hillary Airport was therefore built under the supervision of Sir Edmund Hillary in 1964 and it is one of the most scenic airstrips in the world and similarly a dangerous one as well.

Everest Treks are quite challenging. In this 14 days trek, You have to walk 6-7 hours a day and there will be a problem of Altitude Sickness also. The weather conditions, lack of a proper guide, food and accommodation may also cause some trouble. However, for those going with an experienced guide and having a good level of physical fitness this trek won’t be hard.

Its always better to trek in Mount Everest Base Camp during Autumn and Spring. During this time the weather remains moderate and the sky becomes clearer.

Now, you do not need a TIMS card to go Everest. In place of TIMS Card, the government of Nepal has addressed Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. So, you need Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit for trekking in Khumbu.

Difficulty Level

You know, trekking is an adventure sport. Everest Base Camp Trek 14 days is quite demanding. A good level of cardiovascular fitness and trekking experience is necessary to do this trek with ease. To see the gem(Everest) you have to go through certain difficulties like altitude sickness, weather, food and accommodation, lack of experienced trekking guide and so on. It is good to be physically fit. So we recommend doing general exercises 15 days prior to trekking. Find more about Everest trekking difficulties below:

  • Altitude Sickness
  • Weather/Season to Trek
  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Considerations
Altitude Sickness

The term Altitude Sickness is used often but there are intact 3 types of Altitude Sickness. The most common is actually Acute Mountain Sickness – or AMS for short. AMS becomes a real threat when ascending at altitudes of 3,000m / 9,000ft or more. AMS comes into effect usually because a trekker or climber ascends too quickly. As the air becomes thinner, there is less oxygen available. Your lungs need time to adjust in order to carry much-needed oxygen to the different parts of your body. As we are going to Everest Base Camp up to 5550m, it is an obvious problem for trekkers in Everest Base Camp Trek 14 days.

Best Time to visit

Nepal is such beautiful that you can come here at any time and spend a beautiful memorable time. However, to see most of Nepal with a clear sky, extra-heartening scenarios, fewer dangers of mountains and a great time, we recommend you to visit Nepal at a certain time. Everest Base Camp trek Best Time is March-April-May and  September-October-November. And this 2020, all time is going to be something special. However, trekking in the off-season is really dangerous. we do not operate any trek around Khumbu Region in other seasons.

All accommodation cost for the trip is included in the price of Everest base Camp trek 14 days. You will stay in either a guesthouse or a teahouse. Which one depends on the time of year you are trekking. A Guesthouse is more like a low budget hotel room. You will likely have a shower and a western toilet (they will be shared with other trekkers). You may also have WiFi. A Teahouse is basically an extension of a family home (usually very basic, most likely no shower and a drop toilet.) In either case, hospitality is always outstanding.

While on the EBC trek 14 days, all food is included in the price. The food is basic but extremely nutritious to keep you going. When a package includes nights in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan etc, the price includes breakfast as long as you have it at the Hotel.

Adventure travel, by its very nature, involves an element of the unexpected. Remote areas are sometimes unpredictable and itineraries may be altered. To get the most out of your adventure it is important that you are flexible, positive and eager to take on all the challenges that arise.
