Langtang Valley Trek Route, this blog is about every detail of the trekking itinerary, how we go there and what we should not miss. This course is moderately short however one which the trail, at elevations of under 4,000m, aside from dawn move up Tserko Ri at 5,000m, goes through rhododendron, and bamboo timberlands, along roaring cascades, and under staggering snow-topped mountains.

Langtang Trek Route

Before starting this course. We will prepare the TIMS card and Trek Permits for you. The Trek Route starts from Kathmandu enjoying the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. After visiting major places of Kathmandu Valley, next morning we will take a bus to Syabrubensi. Our actual Trek starts from Syabrubensi.

The route starts from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel to Ghore Tabela to the Village to Kyangin Gompa and returns back through the same route.

  • Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi
  • Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel
  • Lama Hotel to Ghore Tabela
  • Ghore Tabela to Langtang Village
  • Finally to Kyanjin Gompa

Kathmandu to Syabrubensi

The bus will take about 6-7 hours to reach Syabrubensi. On the Langtang journey to Syabrubensi, you will get a chance to see mesmerizing views of Mt Manaslu, Mt Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal. And then we will have a rest that day.

Drive: By Bus ( 6-7 hrs)

Altitude: 1450m

Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel

On the next morning, this course will begin from Syabrubensi and we will trek up to Lama Hotel. On the route, we will be walking through Oak and Rhododendron forest. We will also cross the Langtang Khola hanging bridge.

Trek: 6hrs

Altitude: 2480m

Accommodation: Lodge

1. Trail Crossing Bhote Koshi River
2. Climbing through Oak and Rhododendron Forest
3. Look out Monkeys in Tree

Lama Hotel to Ghore Tabela

On the next day, we will move from Lama Hotel to Ghore Tabela (approx. 2950m). It will take us about 6 hours to reach here from the hotel. The trek goes through the forest and you can see Local Birds and Monkeys on the way.

Trek: 5-6 hrs

Altitude: 2950m

Ghore Tabela to Langtang Village

We will climb up to the Village from Ghore Tabela. In the Village, you will get a chance to visit Buddhist Monastery. You can also trek in Langtang National Park and do some adventure activities. From the village, you can enjoy the views of white and golden mountain ranges.

Trek: 7 hrs

Altitude: 3541m

Accommodation: Tea House

Trek to Kyangin Gompa

Kyangin Gompa is the last destination of Langtang Valley Trek Route. This is the last day of the trek, it may take you 7-9 days to reach here. You can explore Kyangin Gompa and enjoy amazing mountain views.

Kyangin Gompa to Tserko Ri

Finally, you will get back to Kathmandu from same trekking route.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we get wifi access in this expedition?
=> No, there is no wifi access in this trek. You can use mobile data for internet access. You can get recharge cards to recharge your mobile data.

Can we get drinking water in Langtang trek route?
=> Yes, you can buy drinking water during the walk. But only in the places where we rest, there are no hotels/shops to buy water in other places.

How hard is this Trekking?
=> This walking route is considered as one of the easiest trekking routes. Anyone who has good physical fitness can complete trek easily. You may feel trek difficulty due to altitude sickness and bad weather. Since we will go at best time this won’t be an issue. We recommend you to do some physical exercises prior to trekking.

What are obstacles one may face in this route?
=> One may feel the problem of Altitude Sickness, you may not find the proper hotel without pre-booking, there may be a problem of food and accommodation if you trek alone and you may lose in the way.

How long is the Trek Route?
=> Generally, this Langtang Valley Trek route takes 7-15 days to complete the trek. 10 days will be perfect to get the most out of it.

Should I have to have Trek Permits?
=> While Trekking, it is most to have Langtang National Park Entry Permit and TIMS Card. You will be checked for documents in Trek course, if not found you have to pay double to enter this Region. You can easily find both permits at $50 total from NTB Nepal. Ammonite Adventures will prepare that for you!

When is the best time to Trek?

The best time to trek is in the months of April, May, September and October. During these months the sky is clear, the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold and whats more – the perfect time to enjoy walks. In light of the endurable temperatures, climatic conditions, and the side perspectives the trek offers, spring and autumn seasons are the best time for this trek. However, with proper precautions and trekking gears, this trek can be done at any time of the year.
